This morning the house seemed like a family convention: humans everywhere, coffee in the cups, and many voices talking at once. Among the guests appeared a lady who sounded familiar: Tarja, the friend of my dad Edu's mother. And she didn't come alone, she brought her daughter Mirjam. I approached with my usual charm and my "dog that deserves petting" face, and yes, I got some cuddles... but they soon got distracted with him. The pussy. The feline. The furry one with the "don't touch me" face... and yet everyone wanted to touch him. Tom took 90% of the day's cuddles, and I was left with the leftovers. Scandal!
On top of that, there was everything on the table: cheeses that smelled divine, cakes, pastries, rolls... I smelled it all from my little corner of the living room, but you know how it is: look yes, taste no. Luckily some strategic piece fell to the ground. Or almost fell.
After a couple of hours of chatting, laughter and feline cuddles, the guests said goodbye. And then it was time to stretch our legs. We went for a long walk, just with dad Edu, uncle Antonio and aunt Wilma. Lots of fields, lots of smells, the odd invisible rabbit that I know was there... and everything very quiet. A group walk, the kind where the humans chat and I go smelling every blade of grass as if it were a canine encyclopedia.
There were no great adventures today, no chases, no killer cows. But sometimes a day like this is also good, with a sofa, visits, forbidden delicacies and a little walk to avoid rusting.
And yes, as always, we slept in our camper parked in front of the house. The tradition continues.
