The morning started as always, at our own pace… that is, with no hurry at all. Around twelve o'clock, Daddy Edu finally started the car. I had been ready for a while, but of course, nobody asks me what time is convenient for me. In just twenty minutes we arrived in Belfast and parked in a place that sounded very serious: the Titanic Quarter. Come on, if the ship sank, at least here they have turned it into a luxury neighborhood. Parking was paid, but reasonable: two pounds an hour. Daddy Edu said that in Dublin that would be a joke price.
I stayed in the campervan watching everything, while Daddy Edu and Uncle Javi went to see the Titanic Experience. From what I understood, it's a huge museum dedicated to the famous ship: its construction in the Harland & Wolff shipyards, the stories of the passengers and even models where you can imagine yourself walking through its halls before the final plunge. They also went into the SS Nomadic, a much smaller but historic boat: it was the ferry that took passengers from land to the Titanic itself. Come on, the most famous maritime taxi in the world.
I waited for them with all the patience that a dog can have (which isn't much). They returned after half past five, exhausted from looking at so many panels and models. Meanwhile, I had taken a championship nap. Then we ate: them human food, me kibble. The usual distribution.
But it didn't end there. They still had time left on the parking meter, so they went for a walk around the area. They took me too, it was my turn. We went to the HMS Caroline, a World War I warship. It was closed, but we still saw it from the outside and the truth was quite imposing. The walk was pleasant, with views of the harbor and that sea air that makes me want to sneeze.
Already tired, we went back to the car and in twenty minutes we were back in the forest parking lot where we had slept the night before. Tranquility, silence, only two more campervans and me happy because it smells like nature here. For me, better than any museum.
