Day 170:

Grenade

Between the rain and laziness, the afternoon nap won

It dawned with that drumming of rain that turns the campervan roof into a Sunday soundtrack, even though it was Thursday. Papi Edu looked out the window and said something about “Toulouse awaits us”. But between you and me… neither of us seemed to be very keen on the city. Sometimes the sun came out, as if it wanted to convince us, and the next minute a downpour worthy of a disaster movie fell. So Toulouse stayed waiting and so did we, but inside.

It was one of those days of an invisible blanket and a travelling mind. Papi Edu turned on the computer, typed, read things, dreamt out loud about how to improve the campervan (another crazy idea). Meanwhile, I put my zen philosophy into practice: sleep, stretch, change position and go back to sleep. From time to time I got up to check that everything was still in order and that the food was still in its place.

Between clouds, we went for a couple of walks in the park next to the area. It's not paradise, but it has trees, grass and interesting smells. And, above all, there was no rush. No traffic. No plans.

It was a quiet day, without monuments or mountains, without rivers or spectacular rocks. Just the two of us, the rain and the soft sound of the world passing by. And sometimes, that's also an adventure.

At night, the rain returned to play its symphony on the roof. I snuggled up and thought: today we haven't done anything... but how well we've done it.
